I met Chris on the Gringo trail in Colombia as the name suggests, that's where most of the gringos are.
Chris didn't know anything about my plans to go off the beathen path and go to the most remote places where there are the most beautiful landscapes, culture and adventures what the most people don't see.
He liked my plan and was fully motivated to join me.
After 2 days of bus ride we got stuck at 3 a.m middle of nowhere Capitanejo. We are told to wait until noon when the milk truck comes and drives to Güican. It's still 4 hours to go.
After long time the sun already rise a frindly old man asked if he could drive us.
One of my most beautiful rides through Canyons and over bridges to Güican.
Chris slept, but he doesn't regret for a second he came along, it was one of his best travel experiences to climb Ritacumba Blanco and feel the mythos of the indigenous region.
The indigenous native of the region are the Uwa and their reservation overlaps the area of the park this part is dedicated to their farming, grazing, hunting and fishing activities
National Park Sierra Nevada del Cocuy and a series of highlands and glaciated peaks locatet in the Andes of Colombia, at its easternmost point. It holds the biggest glacial mass in South America, north of the Equator.
