Tour Nevado del Tolima

Service Description

Enjoy a 4- day climb to the summit of Nevado del Tolima in Colombia. Spend your nights in the finca La Primavera and various camps as you progress higher up the peak. Perfect for experienced climbers looking for another challenge. The ascent to the top of the peak is not easy. In fact, it is considered one of the more difficult climbs in the entire country. The route to the top is steep but the amazing views from the summit, make the challenge woth it. This trip starts in Salento Quindio. From there we drive with the famous Jeep Willy's to the Valle Cocora. The hike starts at the end of the valley through rich, vibrant vegetation to the finca La Primavera where we will sleep for the night. After having breakfast and arraging the equipment the group will begin to walk to the base camp. Duting the first couple of hours of the morning you will walk between ups and downs & lagoons until you reach the base of the Tolima mountain. Here you will have a steep ascent to the base camp. Next day we take an early alpine breakfast before starting our hike soon after. Steep ascent to the glacial boarder. From this point each member of the group puts on the ice equipment. Between this point at the Nevado del Tolima summit there is 2 km of steep ascent untill you manage to reach the top and the weather conditions allow it. Descent to La Primavera and the next day hike down the valley to Salento.
